Segobriga & Cuenca
Today we visited Segobriga in western Spain on our way to Cuenca. The urban development of the Roman city seems to begin in the middle of century I AD. It was very interesting to walk around and tour these ancient ruins.

We then on to Cuenca and visited Grant last area. We have visited some recent converts and set up a Pizza appointment for Saturday night.

Toledo

Hi all,
Today we toured one of Grants areas about an hour south of Madrid.
Toledo is one of the most important centers of european medieval history. The first one to report about it was Roman author Titus Livius, who describes it as a "small fortificated town", and fortification has always been an important parameter in its history, still evident today' for the monumental walls around, and the "Swords of Toledo" gave to its steel-production world-wide fame. It was capital of Spain from the Gothic epoch until 1560, fact that explains its really impressive medieval architecture. Walking through its streets one feels like having stepped back into the Middle-Ages...(travel website).

Avila & Segovia

Hola
We had a long day today traveling to Avila and Segovia. These two cities have a rich heritage dating to the Roman era. Avila is a walled city with a Cathedral that was begun in the 12th century. We saw the finger of Saint Theresa and learned of all the good she did in the 15th century. They would take parts of the saint after death and spread them around to different areas. Lots of churches and souvenir shops around every narrow street.
Segovia is dominated by the remains of a Roman aqueduct from the time of Christ. We also toured a massive gothic Cathedral and Alcazar castle .
Lots and lots of walking. Grateful for my senior friends who set an enjoyable pace.
